Soie
May 1-3, 2026
The Mosesian Center for the Arts
Watertown
In the 1860s, Hervé Joncour undertook four trips to Japan to purchase silkworm eggs. In this distant and dangerous country, he fell madly in love with a beautiful stranger, a meeting that changed his life.
Soie speaks of impossible loves, sensuality, obsession, and "the happiness we flee for fear it will escape..." Adapted from the 1996 overnight cult sensation novel Seta, published in Italy in 1996, Soie is a modest and sensual invitation to travel and to love.
Written by Alessandro Baricco
